X-Raided Nearly Killed in Extortion Attempt

On March 19th, 2010, at approximately 2:54 pm a riot erupted on the Pleasant Valley State Prison recreation yard between Northern Hispanic and Black inmates, according to prison officials.

According to officials at the prison, Sacramento rapper,
Anerae “X-Rated” Brown, 34, was stabbed and slashed with inmate-manufactured stabbing and slashing weapons during the riot.

The two prisoners being accused in the attack, which nearly claimed the life of Inmate Brown, are, Terry “Stranger” Gonzales, Jr, 27, of Modesto, CA, and Ron “Mike Enemigo” werth, 31, of Sacramento, CA.

According to authorities, Gonzales and Werth stabbed and slashed Inmate Brown numerous times. Medical staff documented slashes and puncture wounds Inmate Brown received to his neck, head, shoulders, back, chest, and forearm.

Officials say that Inmate Brown attempted to evade his attackers by running backwards.

Based on information received from medical staff, one of the wounds that the victim suffered was a wound to his head which was an “Arterial Bleed”. This caused a massive loss of blood for Brown and as a result caused his blood pressure to fall critically low. Medical staff further stated that if the medical treatment would have not been administered immediately, Inmate Brown would have bled out and perished from his injuries. Following the attack, Brown was airlifted to a hospital outside of the institution to further treat his injuries.

Anerae “X-Raided” Brown was convicted for the 1992 Home-Invasion and Murder of Mrs. Harris, an innocent woman form the Meadowview area of Sacramento, Ca.

Brown released a rap CD before being arrested on the murder and according to prosecutors, rapped about the crime on one of the songs, which was later used against him during his trial.

While awaiting trial for the murder of Mrs. Harris, Brown recorded yet another CD; this time doing so over the Sacramento County Jail telephone.

Ironically, Inmate Ron Werth, is also a rapper from Sacramento, CA, and is said to be releasing his own debut album.

According to prison officials, both inmates accused in the attack are currently housed in the Administrative Segregation Unit in Pleasant Valley State Prison, as they await the outcome of this matter.

A group of inmates on the "A" Facility sensitive needs yard at Pleasant Valley State Prison attempted to stab imprisoned Sacramento rapper Aneraé "X-Raided" Brown to death on March 19, 2010. According to the incident report, Brown was attacked near the basketball court on the recreation yard by a group of inmates identified by R. Rodriguez, Search & Escort Officer #1, as "known Northern Rider affiliates." Northern Riders are former members of the notorious Northern Mexican prison gang "XIV" who have been kicked out of the "Norte" and were removed from the mainline of the General Population for their own protection.

"These guys," according to Brown's attorney, "are essentially a Protective Custody gang. They're a group of guys who were kicked off of the mainline by the Norte who came together on a sensitive needs yard and made up a new PC gang. It's ridiculous. They ran away from the mainline only to get to an SNY facility and form a new so-called gang."

The attack on Brown escalated into a full blown riot as other Black inmates rushed to assist Brown (CDC#K-17737), who was fighting three inmates identified as R. Werth, Gonzales, and Lawson. Werth had a state toothbrush with eight razor blades taped and tied to it. Gonzales had an inmate manufactured knife constructed from a piece of metal removed from the facility's baseball equipment. The fighting went on for several minutes before being brought under control by over a dozen correctional officers and the institutional security unit. By then Brown had been stabbed and sliced a total of seven times. Brown can be seen in the video doing what some call the "Crip walk dance" after landing a devastating blow to Werth's upper body, which dislocated Werth's shoulder. Unaware that he had been stabbed, Brown continued to dance until being ordered to lay prone by correctional officer E. Bustos. Brown had to be airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, CA, where he was held overnight and returned to PVSP Saturday, March 20, 2010. Inmate Werth was transported to the hospital as well, where he was treated for a dislocated shoulder, cuts, lacerations, and swelling to the back of the head. Inmate R. Razo, who assisted Brown, was also stabbed and sliced but was treated at the institution as his wounds were not sever in nature.

Brown, who is classified as a "High Notoriety" inmate, can only be housed on sensitive needs yards (SNY) which are facilities for "drop outs," inmates who are inactive former gang members looking to stay out of trouble in hopes of making parole and doing their time in relative peace. Not to be confused with Protective Custody, such as the Protective Housing Unit (PHU) at Corcoran State Prison where Charles Manson is housed, SNY facilities are for incarcerated celebrities, inmates with high profile cases like Phil Spector, The Menendez Brothers, Sirhan Sirhan, and Tom Sizemore. Inmates whose lives may be in immediate danger due to case factors, such as former prison gang members and ex-street gang members are housed on SNY facilities as well, after undergoing an extensive process known as debriefing, which requires them to provide information about their former gang to the prison administration.

"Street gang members who retire are not required to debrief, nor are high profile inmates and celebrities. Former prison gang members however must debrief in order to become SNY status. So we're talking about a bunch of guys who gave up information about the Norte in order to become SNY, then they got on an SNY facility where it's safe and stared calling themselves the Northern Riders, the Playboys, and took the Playboy Bunny as their logo, and we want to know how that was allowed to happen. If they were identified by c/o R. Rodriguez as 'known Northern Rider associates,'" stated Brown's wife, "the question becomes, why were they allowed to remain on the facility?"

According to the incident report dated March 23, 2010, by Lt. Lantz, it was determined that Brown was the victim in this case and will not be facing disciplinary action or criminal charges.

"The so-called Northern Riders attempted to extort my client. They wanted him to produce and release their rap album. We're talking about inmates serving Life without the possibility of parole (Werth and Gonzales) wanting to be rap stars, and feeling so rejected to the point of wanting to kill him in an attempt to gain some fame. It's absurd. Our client shouldn't be facing threats of death on any Special Needs Yard, especially from a bunch of cowards who ran away from the mainline to escape from the Norte, only to clique up on any SNY facility. If they wanted to be tough guys they should have stayed on the mainline."

X-raided - Grandparents Lyrics

[VERSE 1] I prolly never told you before, so i wanted to say how much i love, respect, and appreciate, the way you, raised me kept me safe, and praised me, and even when i didn't behave, and i made you crazy, and i ought to change paths didn't cross my mind, and I would stop by at the drop of a dime, first, thing i do as soon as i step in the crib, is get a hug and a kiss, stick my head in your fridge, but you see, the foods an excuse, i use the hunger as a reason to visit, but what i seek is the comfort that i feel in your presence, its with your common peace, i escaped the vivid drama of the streets. [BRIDGE] My grandparents didn't care how healthy or how rich i was, didn't care how wealthy or how sick i was, didn't care about spoiled or cripped out thug, i never left the house without love, my grandparents, [Chorus] I tried hard to make her proud did my best at least, as a child all they wanted was the best for me, when i die, my breath speaks, "i Hope i'm Blessed to be in your presence again, til then rest in peace" tried hard to make her proud did my best at least, as a child all they wanted was the best for me, when i die, my breath speaks, "i Hope i'm Blessed to be in they presence again, til then rest in peace" [Verse 2] Grandma, swear to God ever since you died, its been a whole in my soul where you used to reside. Hold on, be strong, the truth is i tried, I was refusing to cry due to my youth and my pride. Reminisce about the day you used to hold me close, the way you go when you used to catch the holy ghost, clap your hands, do your dance to some marvin gay, it's necessary though it's hard to say, now let us pray, I want the whole world to know that you not forgotten, love you with all my heart from top to bottom, talkin' to everybody, mother, sons, daughters and fathers. Cherish your grandparents thank God that you got 'em. [Chorus] I tried hard to make her proud did my best at least, as a child all i wanted was the best for me, when i die, my breath speaks, "i Hope i'm Blessed to be in your presence again, til then rest in peace" tried hard to make her proud did my best at least, as a child all they wanted was the best for me, when i die, my breath speaks, "i Hope i'm Blessed to be in they presence again, til then rest in peace" [VERSE 3] when mom was having problems, man it was wild serious, forget the grand, it was if i was your child period. you stepped in , took raising a child serious. I didn't understand, i was a child curious. But now that i'm a man, i can see your sacrifice, you should've been retired, but instead you barely had a life, could've been taking, vacations happily, but the only traveling you got to do was chasing after me. but you, never complained, and it never was strained our relationship was solid and it would never change, even, when i was wrong you never would blame, you just supported me, simple and plain [BRIDGE] My grandparents didn't care how healthy or how rich i was, didn't care how wealthy or how sick i was, didn't care about spoiled or cripped out thug, i never left the house without love, my grandparents, [Chorus] I tried hard to make her proud did my best at least, as a child all i wanted was the best for me, when i die, my breath speaks, "i Hope i'm Blessed to be in your presence again, til then rest in peace" tried hard to make her proud did my best at least, as a child all they wanted was the best for me, when i die, my breath speaks, "i Hope i'm Blessed to be in they presence again, til then rest in peace"

X-Raided Cell Searched, Recording Equipment Discovered

Serving a 31 year sentence inside California's Pleasant Valley State Prison, X-raided's prison cell was searched for contraband. Officials say they discovered a Nokia cell phone, charger, spare battery, and a Roland R-09HR WAV/MP3 voice recorder. According to reports, an informant notified Pleasant Valley officials of a laundry room supervisor employed by the state of California who had been smuggling the contraband to the rapper's cell. The items were found hidden inside of an Arts in Correction keyboard and typewriter cartridges. While possessing a cellular device within Pleasant Valley is considered only a minor infraction, prison officials and members of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations say that it is a huge problem. "It’s a big problem for us with budget cuts and furlough days, having state employees willing to bring inmates contraband for money. It’s happening now more than ever,” a prison guard stated anonymously. For X-Raided, attempting to record while incarcerated is not a first time occurrence. In 1999, a prison guard at Salinas Valley State prison was fired for providing recording equipment to the rapper. Over the last decade, X-Raided has successfully managed to release multiple projects from within his cell and over the phone, including Xorcist, The Unforgiven Volume 1: The Beginning and The Initiation, The unforgiven Vol. 2: eternally unforgiven, and his most recent album Bloc Bizniz. Many are speculating that X-Raided had the equipment to record a series of mixtapes and full length albums, which still has yet to be released. Born Anerae Brown, X-Raided was sentenced to the medium security prison following a conviction of first degree murder and gang related homicide in which Brown and four others were found guilty in the 1992 slaying of a rival gang member's mother.
